Plans and limits
What an organisation on obscenter.site may have: a 15-day free trial with 1 server and unlimited websites and mobile apps, then a usage-based licence counted in credits.
On the hosted service at obscenter.site every organisation has a plan: a 15-day free trial with 1 server, unlimited websites and mobile apps; then a licence — info@obscenter.site. The licence is usage-based: what your organisation uses is counted in credits, and the monthly fee follows them. There is no free tier after the trial. An install on your own server has no plan limits at all.
The plans
| Plan | Hosts | Web apps | Mobile apps | How long |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free trial | 1 | unlimited | unlimited | 15 days from the organisation's creation |
| Licence | unlimited, or numbers agreed for your fleet; the fee follows the credits used | as agreed — write to info@obscenter.site | ||
What counts: a host is a machine reporting with your organisation's key. A container is something that runs on a host and is not counted. Applications are counted by kind, website or mobile app, whether or not they are hidden from the list. A licence never gives less than the trial while the trial runs.
Usage and credits
Everything an organisation makes this service do is counted in one unit, the credit, so a small site, many small sites, a fleet of servers and a single busy app are measured the same way. A month's credits are the sum of four parts:
- What arrives: measurements a minute, averaged over the month. Page loads, spans, host samples, log lines, replay events and device readings all count, each by how many values it carries.
- What is kept: the data stored for the organisation, in gigabytes, and for how long. Longer retention keeps more, so it counts more.
- Probes: the synthetic checks that run, by runs a month. A browser check counts ten times an HTTP check.
- Machines: the hosts reporting with the organisation's key.
Credits become a monthly fee at the rate the service sets, with VAT on top; AI assistant use, when there is any, is added at its own cost. Settings → Plan & licence shows everybody in the organisation its credits this month, part by part, and the fee once the service publishes its prices. Nothing is charged during the trial.
Where you see it
Settings → Plan & licence, also in the account menu (and in the Launchpad for owners and admins), is there for everybody in the organisation, read-only for members and viewers. It shows the plan, when the trial ends (or ended), a licence's numbers and end date, how many hosts, web apps and mobile apps are in use against what the plan allows, what is paused, and what happens next. Owners and admins also see a short note on Home in the last seven days of the trial, and when a limit is reached or something is paused. The Install pages and the new-application form say how much room is left before you try.
At the limit
- A new host beyond the limit is not created. The collector answers its report with
402and the reason, for example "This organisation's trial allows 1 host and it already has 1. Remove one, or ask for a licence at info@obscenter.site." The agent keeps running, logs the refusal and tries again a minute later; the installer's--selftestprints the sentence in full. - A new application beyond the limit is refused with the same kind of sentence, from the dashboard, the API and the command line alike.
- A site the agent finds on a machine is not made an application when the web apps are all in use. The machine's settings page lists it as not adopted: plan limit, and it is adopted on the next report once there is room.
When the trial ends
When the trial ends and there is no licence, monitoring pauses: every host, web app and mobile app of the organisation. Nothing is deleted, and nothing harmful happens to what you monitor.
Everybody in the organisation, its owner included, then sees only Settings → Plan & licence, with signing out, switching to another organisation they belong to, and their own password. Every other page leads there, and the API answers 402 with the reason. The page says when the trial ended, that monitoring is paused and the data is kept, what is paused, and how to get a licence. Past measurements cannot be viewed until there is a licence. Synthetic checks stop running and no new problem is opened for the organisation.
Within a limit — the trial's one server, or a licence's own numbers — the oldest hosts and applications, by when they first reported or were created, keep working up to the limit, and the rest are paused. An owner or admin can choose differently: Keep this one active on a paused one, under Settings → Plan & licence, makes it work instead of the most recently started active one of its kind, and the choice stays until another is made.
- A paused host's server agent is told to pause: it stops collecting and sending, changes nothing on the machine, and asks again every 15 minutes. A paused machine opens no terminal. The services on it keep running exactly as before; an agent inside a service is told to switch everything optional off, and keeps no growing queue.
- A paused website's tag is switched off by its configuration: the page sends nothing and shows no error, and the server agent stops injecting the tag. A paused mobile app's agent is switched off the same way. Anything that still arrives is dropped before it is read.
- Its measurements are kept but not shown while it is paused — not on its own pages, nor in lists, Home, topology, problems, search, dashboards, exports or the assistant. In the lists it appears greyed with a lock, and leads to Plan & licence.
A licence, Keep this one active, or removing a host or an application you no longer need brings a paused one back by itself: its data is visible again at once, and its agent resumes on its next check. When the trial has ended, a licence lets everybody back in and resumes everything the same way. Nothing has to be reinstalled.
Licences
A licence is granted by the install's administrator, on the Licences page, which also shows every organisation's credits and what they come to: unlimited, or numbers of its own for hosts, web apps and mobile apps, for a month, three months, a year, a date of its own or with no end, and a note. It applies at once. When a licence with an end date ends after the trial, monitoring pauses as it does when a trial ends. The administrator is mailed once when an organisation first reaches a limit, and once when its trial ends without a licence, so a licence can be offered before anybody has to ask.
